FAQ

  • Q: Can I have my tegu shipped directly to my home?
    • A: Absolutely! Depending on the weather, we can ship to your home, but live guarantee is void due to fluctuating temps on the truck. We do not ship below 40 degrees or over 90 degrees.
  • Q: Where do you ship?
    • A: At the moment, we do not ship out of the United States, but we plan on eventually shipping out of country so keep your eyes peeled. We do not ship salvator merianae or salvator rufescens--black and white, blue, red, or hybrid tegus to the current states--Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia or Hawaii.
  • Q: How does shipping work?
    • A: Tegus will come shipped in an insulated box. Inside the box, your tegu will be securely inside of a cloth bag packed in with paper towels and packing paper to absorb any shock from being tossed around during the shipping process. We provide complimentary stickers, a card with the genetics and birthday of your tegu, as well as the egg that your tegu hatched out of. We will also provide a microchip with your tegu, with instructions on how to register them online without additional cost! We ship our tegus with redline shipping, overnight to house or hub. If you ship to home, someone must be home to sign for the package.
  • Q: Do you take payment plans?
    • A: Yes, we do. A 25% deposit must be put down on the first payment, and then the rest must be paid before 30 days. Payments are non-refundable if you decide you no longer want the tegu. We are willing to work with you.
  • Q: What days do you ship?
    • A: We ship Monday-Wednesday for Tuesday to Thursday arrival. We do this to make sure if a package is delayed, it does not get stuck at a hub over the weekend. We also do not ship weeks before, during, or after any holidays for the very same reason.
  • Q: Do you wholesale animals?
    • A: Yes. We wholesale animals, but orders must be at least 10 animals, with a $3000 order minimum. We only wholesale to stores or other breeders.
  • Q: Do you issue refunds?
    • A: Refunds are only given if animal arrives deceased, sick, or injured. Refund requests must be made an hour after pickup and must show a clear photo of our animal next to the shipping label which shows either DOA, an injury, or sickness. When we ship you our animals, we give you exactly what you are asking for. Pictures are not edited. If you wish for more photos, videos, or to video call, please send us an email or text, we are happy to help!
  • Q: Help! The tegu I got from you isn't eating, what do I do?
    • A: Tegus take a while to get adjusted to a new home, it is completely normal for them not to eat the first few days and stay buried if not for longer. Do not mess with them during this time, it is important to let them get acclimated. Make sure that husbandry is correct: 90-95F ambient on the warm side, 75-80F on the cool, with a basking surface temperature of 115-125F, humidity should fluctuate between 50-70%, it should not be high or low all the time, let it fluctuate in spikes. UVI should measure in the 2.0 range in the basking zone, and have a shady zone where they can get away from it. Max UVI should be 2.9 in the basking, and min should be 1.0 on the shady side. UVB is VERY important for D3 synthesis and digestion. Offer food daily in small amounts, and once they start eating increase amount. Good foods to start out with are insects such as discoid or dubia roaches, ground turkey, chicken organ parts or salmon. Eggs are not good to use when trying to get them to eat, as they can get addicted and will try to wait you out--we only suggest eggs when they are eating regularly as a treat. You can leave food in their enclosure for several hours, best time to put it in, is when they have been up and basking for a while and are exploring their enclosure.
